Avaya has created a wholly owned subsidiary that will focus on sales, services and solutions for the U.S. government. The new subsidiary, to be called Avaya Federal Solutions, will launch August 1.

The Avaya Federal Solutions will include a staff of about 400 people dedicated to providing IP telephony, contact center, unified communications, and services to meet the unique needs  of the military and civilian branches of the U.S. government. Jeff Hansen, currently vice president of Avaya's Federal Sales division, will serve as president of the new subsidiary.
