Digium, the Asterisk Company, unveiled Switchvox Developer Central, an online community for developers who are integrating voice and web applications using the Switchvox unified communications solution.

Switchvox is Digium’s family of Voice over Internet Pprotocol (VoIP) phone systems for small and mid-sized businesses. Switchvox systems, which are based on the open source Asterisk telephony platform, are cost-effective, easy to use, and full of features that are typically found only in an expensive private branch exchange (PBX).

Switchvox Developer Central (http://developers.digium.com/switchvox/) is a website for developers to connect with one another to share ideas and solve problems. It includes a wiki containing all documentation for the Switchvox Extend API, a forum for ongoing discussion, a blog for the Digium engineering team to post news to the community, and tools to simplify development and testing.
