PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Honolulu Star-Bulletin, a Black Press Ltd. newspaper, has live traffic on VoicePort's voice-driven self-service hosted circulation Integrated Voice Response (IVR) application, CircPort OnDemand. CircPort uses speech recognition to understand and process caller requests.

The newspaper is using the application to provide customers 24/7 access to their accounts to handle routine circulation phone calls such as placing vacation holds, checking account status, and reporting delivery problems. The application is integrated into the newspaper's MediaSpan CirculationPro database.

Additional phases of implementation will offer subscribers the opportunity to make payments to their account, sign up for Ez Pay, start a new subscription, or make address changes.

"CircPort OnDemand will help us remain committed to serving our subscribers better by reducing call hold times and increasing the level of customer service we provide to 24/7/365," said Joe Leong, circulation director at the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
