IVO Software today launched its IVONA text-to-speech service on the Internet. Users who visit www.ivona.com/online can now create speech recordings in a matter of seconds.

The recordings generated on the studio’s Web page can be saved as MP3, .WAV, or .OGG files and used for all sorts of voice-based applications, including podcasts, movie voice-overs, ringtones, eLearning, eBooks, answering machine greetings, alarm sounds, and interactive voice response or other call center systems. Recordings can be made using male and female voices in English and Polish, and a female voice in Romanian.

The businesses that use IVONA Online also save the costs of server purchase, infrastructure deployment, and maintenance—they pay only for the synthetically generated speech.

”Already several million people from all over the world have visited our Web site to try out the voices of IVONA," says Lukasz Osowski, president of IVO Software. "IVONA’s popularity inspired us to create the first Internet recording studio in the world where anyone can quickly make and download speech recordings.”
