Yap, a provider of automated, cloud-based speech recognition services,  has launched its transcription service for Spanish speakers.

“More than 35 million Americans over the age of five speak Spanish,” says Igor Jablokov, CEO at Yap. “We are up and running with leading telecom carriers, business communications providers, and application developers in this country. We believe adding Spanish language support to our portfolio will only enhance our leadership in the market.”

“In just the past six months alone, we’ve seen the volume on our platform spike dramatically as a range of businesses realize the power of Yap’s speech recognition platform,” says Jablokov. “We’ve been applying the lessons learned from English language development to allow us to offer high quality automated transcriptions of Spanish voice input. Given there are more Spanish speakers in the U.S. than in Spain, it’s a significant market.”
