Loquendo's speech recognition and text-to-speech technologies have been incorporated into the professional developers' toolkit of Windows Embedded Automotive 7, the embedded platform for in-vehicle use based on Windows Embedded Compact 7.

Windows Embedded Automotive has been integrated by numerous tier one companies, including Magneti Marelli, to offer drivers the opportunity to interact with navigation applications and to control in-car features and on-board devices by voice, for complete eyes-free and hands-free operation and a safer and more efficient drive. The platform automatically connects to the user's phone when he enters the vehicle and downloads any new email and contacts. It also allows the driver to play music directly from his phone through the car’s sound system by simply saying the track or artist he wants to hear, thanks to Loquendo’s noise-robust speech recognition.

With Windows Embedded Automotive 7, incoming email can be read out automatically as they arrive, with Loquendo’s multilingual text to speech. All this lets users work through their inboxes safely while on the move, without having to take their eyes off the road or hands off the wheel. When he's done, the music fades back up automatically.

Loquendo Embedded TTS for Automotive combines a series of studio quality, pre-recorded phrases with the flexibility of text-to-speech.
