MUNICH and ZURICH - linguatec GmbH entered a strategic partnership with Swiss text-to-speech specialist SVOX AG. In the new 2006 version, the linguatec translation program Personal Translator uses a speech-output component from SVOX.

SVOX offers a text-to-speech (TTS) system which converts written text to articulated speech.

Using the Personal Translator, the user can listen to and check both original texts and translations in German, English and French.

linguatec and SVOX plan to extend their collaboration to more joint projects in the future.
