Call Genie, provider of speech search solutions for directory assistance providers and wireless carriers, announced last week the availability of its Enhanced Voice Directory (EVD) software in French. Recently deployed in 875 cities in Quebec, the French language release of EVD maintains the features of Call Genie’s original EVD software according to a press release; these features include business category search, location refinement, merchant ranking, voiceadvertising, and call connection.   

Enterprises using the service boast enhanced directory assistance for theircallers. The VUI is both intuitive and accurate, and EVD’s multimodal capabilities also allow for immediate connection with merchants.

"By incorporating French language support, our customers are now able to offer a French-only or bilingual, English-French, local search solution totheir callers," said Call Genie CEO Michael Durance in a release.

Call Genie’s support of the French language underscores the company’s intention of branching to Europe and other international markets.
