20/20 Speech Announces Commercial Take-up of Aurix tts Software

LONDON, ENGLAND - 20/20 Speech, a joint equity venture between NXT plc and QinetiQ, announces further commercial take-up of Aurix tts, 20/20 Speech's text-to-speech software. The latest product to incorporate Aurix tts software is "Wireless Logistix", a new job control, proof-of-delivery system from Wireless Delivered. Aimed at the courier market, Wireless Logistix, an Internet based application, combines mobile data network (GPRS) technology with Pocket PC devices. "Wireless Logistix" forms a two-way messaging system between a courier's PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) and the courier company's control center. The PDA delivers up-to-the-minute instructions and captures addressees' signatures in real time, enabling the courier to send instant updates to a back-office system. At the same time, the company can send new job information, or other office updates, direct to the courier's PDA. Critically, Aurix tts software now enables couriers to convert job information, such as a delivery address, into spoken output, aiding communication and enhancing productivity in these 'eyes-busy', 'hands-busy' environments. Jan O'Hara, Managing Director of Wireless Delivered commented: "We are committed to providing reliable, end-to-end wireless solutions for the courier market, that utilise best of breed technologies. With a low memory requirement and superb voice quality, Aurix tts is the ideal choice to provide the voice output that was necessary for a truly mobile solution." Ian Brotherston, Managing Director of 20/20 Speech couldn't agree more, stating, "20/20 Speech is committed to deploying its leading voice technology to deliver real solutions that bring real benefits to customers. "We are delighted to be working with Wireless Delivered, who are leaders in their field, enabling them to realise significant efficiency gains." Wireless Delivered are looking to expand this application into a number of industries that require proof of delivery systems.
