MILTON KEYNES, U.K. - Aculab launched a media resource control protocol (MRCP) client for use with its Prosody media processing resource product range and IP telephony PCI card. The MRCP client library is a programming interface that provides developers with an alternative method of controlling speech resources, such as automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS), from speech vendors supporting the MRCP standard.

Aculab's MRCP client library implements IETF MRCP version one draft seven.

Aculab's MRCP client has been tested for use with products from Loquendo, Nuance (including ScanSoft) and telisma.
