Angel.com Records 1,000th Customer

MCLEAN, VA - Angel.com, the provider of Web-based, speech-enabled telephony applications for businesses, announced its 1,000th customer - Kikucall Incorporated. The New York-based company is leveraging Angel.com to provide location-specific, personalized promotions from local restaurants and nightclubs for wireless phone users in New York and Washington, D.C. Requiring no additional hardware or software purchases, Angel.com's hosted, online service allows businesses to develop interactive speech applications - called "Voice Sites" - via a Web browser and intuitive self-service tools. End users with no prior speech or telephony experience have been able to automate mission-critical business processes such as customer support, marketing campaigns and front-desk services ('virtual receptionists'). Angel.com has also been used for specialty applications such as grass roots campaigns, real estate audio tours and charity hotlines. Instantly connected to standard toll-free or local phone numbers, all Angel.com Voice Sites are billed on a per-minute basis. Over the past six months, Angel.com has recorded a 350 percent increase in monthly network call volume, with individual Voice Sites logging more than 100,000 calls. In the past 30 days, the Angel.com web site has logged more than 100,000 site visits and has signed an average of 50 new evaluators every day. "We've implemented Angel.com's applications for several of our customers and have been consistently amazed by both its power and its ease of use," said Erik St. John, CEO of SoundStrategies, a Sacramento, Calif.-based media production company. "Angel.com allowed us to deliver more than 120,000 calls to California lawmakers and effectively stall a piece of legislation. We were able to provide a detailed call analysis for our client, Porter Novelli, and deliver an unprecedented result in a very short time." Angel.com users can start with any of more than 50 existing application templates and fully customize their Voice Sites to meet their individual needs. "This landmark customer win is a clear signal that business-grade speech applications have arrived," said Michael Zirngibl, president of Angel.com. "Angel.com's affordable speech recognition solutions not only cut costs but build stronger customer relationships and enable the deployment of solutions that were previously cost-prohibitive."
