BeVocal Announces Support for Sun ONE App Server

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - BeVocal, a provider of managed VoiceXML call automation and enhanced voice services solutions to enterprises and service providers, announced its support for the Sun ONE Application Server 7, Standard Edition, a key component of Sun's open, integratable product platform enabling the development and delivery of Java Web services. By integrating the Sun ONE Application Server into the BeVocal Foundation Platform, BeVocal will provide its customers with added functionality, mission critical scalability and platform flexibility for the development and deployment of voice-enabled services. The Sun ONE Application Server 7, Standard Edition adds operations management capabilities such as remote administration and monitoring for large-scale administrative domains in a low-cost J2EE platform for enterprise-wide deployments. For BeVocal customers, this will allow for "hot deployment" of new VoiceXML applications on the server without taking other applications down, or the utilization of built-in management capabilities to set alarms or take the server in and out of service. In addition, the Sun ONE Application Server supports multiple operating environments, giving BeVocal customers the flexibility to run on Solaris Operating System (SPARC™ or x86 Platform Edition) or Linux, depending upon their needs. "BeVocal and Sun have successfully worked together to bring standards-based enhanced speech solutions to the market," said Manish Bhuptani, director of Network Services Market Development at Sun Microsystems, Inc. "The integration of BeVocal with the Sun ONE Application Server will further strengthen our relationship and allow for continued success in deploying web-based speech solutions for customers." "As a result of the integration with Sun ONE application Server, BeVocal customers will enjoy the world-class reliability and support provided by Solaris and Sun ONE," said Kevin Stone, senior director of products at BeVocal. "In addition, BeVocal customers who have standardized on the Sun ONE application server can now leverage the same product across their organization, enabling easy deployment of voice-enabled services and keeping ongoing support costs to a minimum."
