Datahouse Technology and Envox Worldwide Partner

Datahouse Technology selected Envox Worldwide's Envox CT ADE, an interactive voice response (IVR) development tool, to power the IVR for VIP Pharmacy Management Software. The IVR component is available as a separate module for VIP Pharmacy Management Software, a pharmacy management suite that is integrated with clinical databases, accounts receivable and inventory management systems, electronic signature capture and point-of-sale cash registers.

Datahouse Technology wanted to develop its new IVR solution in-house, but its development staff lacked the required telephony expertise. Datahouse Technology decided to develop its solution with Envox CT ADE, which offered programming APIs and pre-built telephony application building blocks, enabling them to integrate voice capabilities with the VIP Pharmacy Management Software. Its developers utilized Envox CT ADE's programming tools to create the IVR solution's application logic. Then, the company used Envox CT ADE's native APIs for controlling its telephony resources which enables them to answer calls and interpret prescription data entered by customers with the telephone keypad.

Datahouse Technology's IVR for VIP Pharmacy Management Software provides independent pharmacies with automated services for both patients and health care providers. Patients can use the system to request prescription refills 24 hours a day and the system computes a pick-up time for the customer based on parameters in the pharmacy system. Prescriptions that require authorization for additional refills are automatically faxed to the patients' physicians for approval. The IVR system is also integrated with the pharmacy's phone system so that anyone requiring personal assistance can be routed to a pharmacist. Patients can also use the solution to access driving directions, store hours and other general information about the pharmacy.

David Kelly is the owner of David's Discount Pharmacy, a store in Sumiton, Ala. He installed IVR for VIP Pharmacy Management to better assist customers who had been complaining that they couldn't get through to his pharmacy to place prescription orders - sometimes for days. "The reaction to our new IVR solution has been extremely positive - from both our customers and their providers," said Kelly. "Now we can process prescription requests faster than ever before, and save money filling each one of them."
