Fonix Joins Symbian Platinum Program

SALT LAKE CITY, UT - Fonix Corporation (OTC BB: FNIX), an international provider of speech interface solutions, has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the emerging market for Symbian OS advanced mobile phones. As a Platinum Partner, Fonix is extending its Text-to-Speech (TTS) and automatic speech recognition (ASR) solutions to the Symbian ecosystem. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS to handset manufacturers, which account for over 80 percent of worldwide mobile phone sales. "By becoming a Symbian Platinum Partner, we can now offer Fonix speech solutions to the Symbian OS ecosystem of application developers, handset manufacturers and carriers. Fonix's VoiceDial software enables mobile phone manufacturers to give customers hands-free, eyes-free dialing capabilities. Users may dial an unlimited number of contacts simply by speaking a name. By becoming a Symbian Platinum Partner, Fonix can offer its speech solutions to Symbian OS-based smartphones, providing management capabilities for enterprises looking to deploy mobile applications.
