Intellectual Property Trading Site Opens

IPSupermarket.com brings buyers and sellers together to buy, sell, and license software IPs, software codecs, reference designs, or patents.

DMC and Embitel, two providers of e-commerce solutions, recently launched an online venture called ipsupermarket.com that allows technology companies operating in semiconductor, telecom, media, mobile, and wireless communications to trade their software intellectual properties.

IPsupermarket provides the platform for developers or companies to license, buy, or sell various kinds of software intellectual properties, like audio, video, speech, and image codecs, reference design, device drivers, RTOS or patents.

"Within the short span of time; it is getting good momentum as well as getting lots of attraction from reputed companies" said Mr. Sharad Bairathi, Managing Director of IPsupermarket

The intellectual property or codecs that sellers would like to list can be from equipment manufacturers, design houses, services companies, engineering companies, semiconductor companies, or individual developers.

At ipsupermarket.com, sellers can show their catalogs or demos to prospective buyers, and  buyers can list their requirements and descriptions of their technology. IPsupermarket is also involved in advertising, promoting, and marketing listed technologies through various Internet marketing channels.
