Loquendo TTS Embedded in Geosat 6 from AvMap

AvMap, a provider of satellite navigation solutions and fleet tracking systems, has chosen Loquendo Embedded TTS to power its Geosat 6 GPS device.

Loquendo's text-to-speech technology will read out street and place names, allowing drivers to devote full attention to the road without having to look at the screen or touch the controls.

The Geosat 6's large, high-resolution, 4.8-inch-wide screen ensures recognition at a glance and can be viewed in horizontal or vertical mode by simply rotating the screen, thanks to the magnetic mount.

AvMap has also developed a special version of Geosat 6 for Peugeot Automobili Italia. In the Peugeot 207, the Geosat 6 mount is integrated into the DIN socket, connecting the device to the car stereo and enabling directions, read out by Loquendo's  TTS, to be heard through the car speakers.
