Loquendo and ConverTec Partner on Speech Apps

ConverTec, a telecom software company focusing on the small to midsize business (SMB) market, will use Loquendo’s speech engines to speech-enable new innovative telecom solutions.

“Virtual Attendant” and “Virtual Assistant” are the first in a suite of speech-enabled solutions that are scheduled for release later this year on Nortel’s Business Communications Manager (BCM) and Avaya’s IP Office platforms. “We are combining our artificial intelligence technology with Loquendo’s superb automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) technologies to deliver a more natural and “human like” experience for callers” explains Doug Moffat, president of ConverTec. “Callers will have a difficult time distinguishing between our Virtual Attendant and a live person.".

“Loquendo is delighted to be partnering with ConverTec," said Rosanna Duce, Vice President International Sales at Loquendo.”Now more than ever, small-medium enterprises need to optimize their technological assets. By coupling Loquendo’s speech expertise with their successful portfolio of products and professional services, ConverTec are indeed offering their customers the winning edge in today’s markets.”

Initial releases will be for Nortel’s Business Communications Manager (BCM) phone system with an Avaya IP Office version to follow. The voice-enabled solutions developed by ConverTec use industry standards that accommodate various phone system manufactures.
