'Make It Easier to Vote Or Lose the Election,' Warns VoxGen

VoxGen has developed a demonstration of a tele-voting system to display the potential of the voting phone line. As with the current postal vote system, citizens would be able apply to vote by telephone if they wish. Once an application form has been submitted and processed, details of the telephone number and personal registration details will be sent out in the post. Registered citizens will then be able to cast their vote via the telephone on Election Day.

At the last General Election, election management across the UK cost taxpayers an estimated £56 million. This is on top of the estimated £52 million spent each year on registration costs.
