Message Technologies added VoIP capability for its more than 2,000 clients.

VoIP offers redundant power supply on switches, wire speed routing, QoS production support to optimize bandwidth, and call compression placing 200 ports on a box.

MTI now has a VoIP staging and production platform on both VoiceGenie and Microsoft to accept incoming calls into the company's data center, from either a public or private IP network. The company uses the session initiation protocol (SIP Proxy) to distribute VoIP calls as well as provide load balancing and data management. MTI previously only accepted TDM calls. In addition, plans to shift MTI's Disaster Recovery center in Dallas towards a VoIP-compatible environment are in process.
