NCT Releases ClearSpeech Noise Reduction Technology for Enea's OSEck Real-Time OS

SAN JOSE, Calif. - NCT released its ClearSpeech noise reduction technology for Enea's OSEck real-time operating system. ClearSpeech gives designers of OSEck-based mobile communications systems a way to enhance voice quality by removing background noise.

ClearSpeech is a suite of software algorithms that provide echo cancellation, signal conditioning and up to 18 dB of noise reduction for human listeners and speech recognition systems.

OSEck (OSE Compact Kernel) is a DSP-optimized version of the OSE RTOS. Occupying less than four kbytes of memory (in a minimal configuration), OSEck delivers pre-emptive, event-driven response, and features built-in error detection and handling. OSEck and OSE utilize the same LINK-based message passing technology. OSE and OSEck also use the same API, enabling designers to leverage the memory protection facilities of OSE on the host processor and the attributes of OSEck on the DSP in one programming environment.
