NMS Communications Introduces Solution Developer's Program

FRAMINGHAM, MA - NMS Communications (Nasdaq:NMSS), supplier of communications products and services, is rolling out an enhanced program for telecommunications application developers to deploy advanced voice and data solutions, based on NMS' complete portfolio of system building blocks. To its already broad operating system offerings, NMS has extended Linux support across the company's entire platforms product line - now to include SS7. With the addition of RedHat 7.2 Linux support to its Natural Access 2003-1 development environment and its Signaling System 7 (SS7) platforms, NMS provides telecom solution developers with comprehensive operating system support. The development solutions already supported Windows 2000 and SPARC and Intel Solaris. Natural Access is a modular runtime and development environment for NMS' voice, conferencing, fax and call processing applications. It provides a standard application programming interface (API) for integrating and presenting media and telecommunication capabilities to an application. NMS has also launched the Telecom Developer's Portal with access to NMS software, documentation and technical information, as well as chat rooms and discussion forums. The Telecom Developer's Portal will introduce visitors to the NMS VoiceXML toolkit that demonstrates NMS' VoiceXML expertise and the ease of use of NMS products. This toolkit can be used as a starting point to develop voice-driven telecommunications applications such as voice portals, voice mail, and interactive voice response systems. In addition to its support for industry-leading automatic speech recognition (ASR) engines, the NMS VoiceXML toolkit provides an interface with Microsoft's built-in ASR and text-to-speech software. In addition to this VoiceXML "playground," the Telecom Developer's Portal will offer application and solution developers the opportunity to interact with NMS and with each other and compare development experiences via chat and discussion forums. In the future, NMS technology experts will share technical insights via live web broadcasts. To get application developers started with NMS building block platforms, the company is offering new customers a Developer's Starter Kit with bundled hardware, software and support at significant discounts for a limited time.
