SEATTLE, WA - NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS) is working with Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) and Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: SUNW) to deliver wireless voice-enabled applications for the recently introduced NMS HearSay, an open voice-enabled services whole product solution for wireless service providers and enterprises worldwide. Through these relationships, NMS Communications has integrated the Oracle9i Application Server and Sun's SPARC Solaris platforms with NMS Hearsay. NMS Hearsay is immediately available for trials. Both Oracle9i Application Server and NMS HearSay support the VoiceXML specification to enable easy access to information via voice and the phone. "The combination of NMS HearSay, the voice-enabled services of Oracle9i Application Server, and the open, scalable platforms from Sun provide a clear service differentiator to wireless operators," said Brian Demers, vice president and general manager of NMS' Network Solutions business. "NMS Communications is the only provider offering what wireless service providers have been asking for an open, single-source, complete solution that leverages the top products and technologies offered in the market. Our relationships with Oracle and Sun demonstrate our commitment to this approach, and we are delighted to be working with them." "Mobile access to voice and data services is no longer a luxury, it's a requirement," said Denise Lahey, senior vice president of Oracle's mobile products and services division. "Paired with NMS, Oracle will provide subscribers with the quick, reliable voice access they demand to their applications and services." "Service providers need a quick, cost-effective way to offer value-added, high-margin services that leverage their network's end-to-end capabilities," said Tim Dwyer, vice president of Sun's Industry Solutions Group. "The NMS HearSay systems give them everything they need for this service delivery a comprehensive, multi-application platform that is ready to deploy in their network today."
