NeoSpeech Enters US Voice Technology Market

FREMONT, CA - With four fully developed core technologies and several specialized applications, NeoSpeech Inc. has entered the US market as a new provider of speech-enabled technologies. NeoSpeech is backed by parent company Voiceware Co. Ltd., a publicly-traded Korean company and player in the speech technology arena. Focused on delivering products and services in key vertical markets, NeoSpeech offers a full range of speech technology solutions for hand-held, desktop and network/server applications. The company will make its formal debut at the SpeechTEK conference in New York later this month. NeoSpeech is headed by chief executive officer Lin Chase, an industry veteran who has held senior positions at Rhetorical Systems and SpeechWorks International. Dr.Yoon Kim joins the company as CTO. Dr. Kim was previously CEO of VerbalTek in San Jose, CA. NeoSpeech offers core products in the four key areas of text-to-speech (TTS), automatic speech recognition (ASR), speaker verification and voice animation. "We are entering the US market with a full suite of well-developed speech technology solutions," says CEO Chase. "Our products are exceptionally versatile and flexible. We are focusing specifically on the key vertical markets where there is the best potential to integrate our technology quickly and efficiently. Our market focus allows us the flexibility to tailor our technology to the specific needs of our partners, providing them with the most successful and cost-effective solutions." Chase noted the company will soon announce two major deals it has signed since establishing its US presence. NeoSpeech's TTS solution, VoiceText, generates human voices from text input. VoiceText is very flexible - an out-of-the-box solution is available in configurations for a wide range of hand-held devices, desktop and network/server applications. NeoSpeech also offers custom solutions using the technology. VoiceEZ, NeoSpeech's ASR solution, is an award-winning speech recognition engine that enables machines to recognize human voices and translate them into text. The solution is accurate and robust in noisy environments. VoiceEZ can be configured to a range of memory footprints, making it ideal for use with a range of platforms, including hand-held devices, desktop machines and network-based servers. "VoiceText and VoiceEZ are both exceptionally flexible and can easily be combined to offer tremendous capabilities for small- to medium-footprint applications," says Chase. "This combination of high-quality TTS and ASR technology, both developed and supported in-house, is simply unequaled for the hand-held market." NeoSpeech's voice security solution, VoiceCop, is a biometric speaker verification solution that checks an individual's identity using the unique characteristics of his or her voice. XVoice is a language-independent voice animation technology that changes how voices sound in real time. The product offers developers, consumers and others the ability to animate a wide array of voices. With its four core products, NeoSpeech has also built several proprietary applications that use its speech-in and speech-out capabilities as part of the interface. Among these are Magic English Plus, a language learning product for the English/Korean consumer and education markets, and CongCong-i, a children's game.
