New CEO Named for Babel-Infovox

Babel Technologies, a developer of speech processing technologies, announced that the former manager of ScanSoft Sweden, Lars-Erik Larsson, has joined Babel Technologies as chief executive officer of Babel Infovox.

Larsson will based at Babel Infovox' office in Stockholm, Sweden. Larsson will be responsible for Babel Infovox' corporate strategy, its day-to-day operations in the Nordic regions and for strengthening the company's messaging and positioning in the Nordic market.

Larsson has more than 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry, working with organizations including Unisys and GlobalOne (formerly known as France Telecom). Prior to joining Babel, Larsson was a senior director at speech and language specialist, Lernout & Hauspie. There, Larsson was responsible for establishing and developing the company's presence in the Nordic region, as well as being responsible for the company's sales and marketing operation in that territory.
