Nuance Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search Apps Available in Mexico

Nuance Communications' Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search applications made their Latin American debuts today when Nuance released them to the Apple App Store in Mexico. The release means that users in Mexico can now download the apps for free to their Apple iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch devices.

Supporting American Spanish, the Dragon Apps are built on the Dragon NaturallySpeaking platform and let users speak text for SMS text messages, email, social media updates, mobile Internet searches and more, up to five times faster than typing.

Mexico is the 14th country where the Dragon Apps have been made available in the past year. Since their introduction in December 2009, the Dragon Apps have been downloaded by millions and have hit the number one and number two spots among free Apple apps in every region available.

Dragon Dictation is iOS-4 compatible and features a pop-up toolbar with app icons for access to email and text message apps, Facebook or Twitter status bars, or the clipboard. Dragon Dictation also includes an Auto Save function that retains dictated text when the user is interrupted by an incoming phone call.

Dragon Search for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, also available on the Mexico App Store, lets users speak any search query to find and access information and answers on the mobile Web. Nuance’s  Dragon Search Carousel delivers search results within seconds across multiple channels all at once, including Google or Bing!, iTunes, Twitter, Wikipedia, and YouTube.

"The launch in Mexico marks the Dragon Apps' entry into Latin America, where consumers now have the opportunity to experience the power of mobile voice," said Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile. "We will continue rolling out apps in Latin America and around the world throughout the rest of the year as part of our mission to deliver the amazing speed and ease of use that only Dragon can provide."

Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search support U.S, U.K., and Australian English; German; European and Canadian French; Italian; American and European Spanish; Japanese; Mandarin Chinese; and Korean. And with multilingual capabilities, all Dragon app users are able to switch between supported languages as they become available. The applications are available in the U.S., Canadian, Mexican, U.K., German, French, Italian, Australian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Swiss, and Austrian App Stores.
