Nuance Launches Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 Professional

Nuance Communications, has released Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 Professional, which allows organizations to deploy, maintain, and share custom settings and features that optimize Dragon for specific business use cases.

Dragon 13 Professional enables employees to simply use their voices to compose and edit documents, write and send email, search the Web, and more whether they are in the office, on the go, or in the field.

Dragon 13 Professional was specifically designed for businesses, allowing IT administrators to install, manage, and update the software across computers in the organization, without having to individually maintain each desktop. Custom commands, custom vocabularies, or user profiles and preferences can be stored and synchronized in central network locations, for easy access, sharing and usage.

Dragon 13 Professional's customizable vocabularies allow words or phrases that are unique to an organization's industry terminology to be added for accurate recognition of these specific words, along with proprietary terminology like product names, location names, and other organization-specific language. These vocabularies can be set up and used by any Dragon Professional user on the network. In addition, Dragon 13 Professional allows creation of custom commands that can automate repetitive workflow processes. In the same way, these commands can be set up centrally and used by multiple employees on the network.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 Professional's new features include the following:

  • Greater out-of-the-box accuracy and faster profile setup;
  • Support for microphones built into many of the latest computers – no headset required – for greater flexibility and convenience
  • Voice commands and Full Text Control in popular web applications like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Outlook.com in the Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers
  • Modern, contemporary interface and helpful learning tutorials

"Organizations are always looking for opportunities to drive increased productivity that are easy for both employees and IT professionals to embrace," said Peter Mahoney, Nuance's chief marketing officer and general manager for Dragon, in a statement. "This latest version of Dragon 13 Professional offers businesses an effective way to achieve the productivity benefits of speech recognition software in a way that integrates with their specific workflows and needs, while enabling IT administrators to easily support Dragon across the organization."

The English version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 Professional is available for purchase via download for $599.99.
