Nuance Rolls Out Dragon Apps in Turkey

Nuance announced that its Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search applications for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad are available for free in the Turkey App Store, supporting the Turkish language. The launch in Turkey marks the 34th country where the Dragon Apps have been made available, allowing iOS consumers to dictate SMS text messages, e-mails, social media updates, mobile Web searches, and more up to five times faster than typing.

"The widespread adoption of the Dragon apps points directly to consumer demand for voice-enabled mobile interfaces all over the world," said Michael Thompson, executive vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile, in a statement.

Dragon Dictation is iOS-5 compatible and features a pop-up toolbar with app icons that enable users to easily access e-mail, SMS, Facebook and Twitter status bars, or the clipboard. Dragon Dictation also includes an auto save function that retains dictated text when the user is interrupted by an incoming phone call.

Dragon Search allows users to speak any search query to find information and knowledge on the mobile Web. Dragon Search features Nuance's Dragon Search Carousel, which delivers search results within seconds across multiple channels, including Google, Yahoo!, Twitter, iTunes, Wikipedia, and YouTube.

In addition to Turkish, the Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search support U.S., U.K., and Australian English, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwan Mandarin, Cantonese, Czech, Korean, Bahasa Indonesia, Hungarian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, European and Canadian French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, European and Brazilian Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, European and Americas Spanish, Swedish, and Standard Arabic. With multilingual capabilities, all Dragon app users are able to easily switch between supported languages as they become available.
