STEP Communications Unveils Bluetooth Compatible Headset

STEP Communications unveiled the STEP 1150, the latest addition to STEP's HumanLink family of products incorporating STEP's proprietary Acoustic Bubble technology intended to allow users to communicate clearly without need of traditional boom microphones. "

STEP's proprietary Acoustic Bubble technology virtually eliminates wind noise and other surrounding sounds, to provide both the user and the receiving party a clarity that is unequalled," stated Mark Naidoff, senior vice president of sales and marketing for STEP. "STEP's Acoustic Bubble technology captures the conversation as if there were a microphone in front of the user, even though the actual placement of the microphone is above the wearer's ear, eliminating distortion and surrounding sounds."

The STEP 1150 weighs less than 20 grams (approx. 6/10th of an ounce) and features a the behind-the-ear style and non-occluding speaker design. STEP is also releasing the BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter for mobile phones that are not Bluetooth enabled. According to STEP, the BTA-1 allows most Nokia, Samsung, Motorola and other mobile phones with 2.5mm headphone jacks to work with the STEP 1150. STEP 1150 has a suggested retail price of $99.99 and is available for immediate shipment directly from the company. The STEP 1150 with BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter is slated for shipment the first quarter, and will carry a suggested retail price of $169.99.
