SandCherry Partners With BEA Systems

ORLANDO, FL - SandCherry Inc., a developer of multi-service broker software for applications and media resources, announced a partnership with BEA Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAS), an application infrastructure software company, to offer speech and multimodal capabilities to businesses that already rely on BEA WebLogic Server and BEA WebLogic Portal for customer service, workforce management, content and messaging applications. The complementary solution uses BEA WebLogic Server and is designed to provide a platform to run Web applications, service elements to the media components on the SandCherry SoftServer platform, and integrate with back-office systems and databases. "SandCherry's platform adds another dimension to applications that have been built on the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform," said Scott Edgington, vice president and general manager, global software partners, BEA Systems. "With enterprises spending millions of dollars a year on application infrastructure, complementary solutions such as this will be extremely valuable in increasing the versatility and utility of those investments." SandCherry's SoftServer platform can provide applications with managed access to a variety of speech recognition, text-to-speech, and announcement components from vendors such as AT&T Labs, Elan, Nuance, SpeechWorks and Telisma to deliver the audio components for voice and multimodal applications. "We are very pleased to be a BEA Star Partner and look forward to even closer collaboration on innovative enterprise solutions," remarked Dale Hartzell, vice president of marketing at SandCherry. "With this solution, enterprises can extend the reach of their Web-enabled applications to virtually everyone by using phones, voice-enabled PDAs, and smartphones, providing a powerful tool that can help improve customer service, simplify workforce management, and increase revenue."
