SpeechPro Releases New Forensic Audio Analysis Software

SpeechPro, the U.S. subsidiary of Speech Technology Center (STC), has released SIS II, the newest version of its SIS forensic audio analysis software.

SIS has long been a mainstay with private and government audio analysis experts around the world and is used in 36 countries. SIS II includes new analysis and processing tools, as well as features designed to improve productivity and plug-in modules for biometric matching and audio recording authentication.

The new features provided by SIS II include enhanced text transcription capabilities, automatic text search and matching, project management tools, and a report generator. Sonogram adjustments can now be made on the fly, as can frame size, weighting window, brightness, contrast, normalization, etc. Windows showing audio signals and voiceprints are arranged for voiceprint or authenticity analysis. SIS II solves practical tasks, such as positively identifying voices, checking audio files for tampering, and creating reports, charts, and documentation for evidentiary purposes.

SIS II is the base application for the SpeechPro Forensic Audio Workstation (FAW). Depending on the end-user's specific needs, FAW can be provided as software only or as a turnkey software and hardware solution, which includes additional noise filtering and speech enhancement tools, voice acquisition modules, and a biometric voice database matching and management system.

"SIS II embodies current state-of-the-art capabilities for forensic audio analysis and is the culmination of STC’s 21 years of experience in the audio analysis sector," stated Alexey Khitrov, president of SpeechPro USA. "In creating SIS II, we drew from our substantial internal R&D resources, but also enlisted the input of forensic experts across the globe in both private and government practice. The time, effort and expertise we’ve invested in SIS II will be self-evident to users who are upgrading and to new users."

"Initial feedback from our existing user base, who were offered evaluation copies of SIS II, has been overwhelmingly positive,” stated Bill Michael, U.S. national sales director at SpeechPro. "We didn’t just meet our goals with this new release, we exceeded them. We've provided the most advanced tools for forensic audio processing and authentication, we've included automatic voice biometric matching capabilities, and we've made the whole application more user friendly."
