T-Mobile Signs European Visual Voicemail Patent License with Klausner Technologies

European telecommunications provider Deutsche Telekom (DT) has entered into a patent license agreement with Klausner Technologies under the Klausner European visual voicemail patents.

The patent license is being announced to coincide with T-Mobile Deutschlan—DT´s mobile operator in Germany—unveiling its new visualized voicemail service this week at the CeBIT fair in Hannover, Germany. The agreement between the two companies entered into under Klausner Technologies’ European Patent 1001588 covers DT´s visualized voicemail services in 17 European countries.

DT is the 20th company to date to license the Klausner visual voicemail patents. Current licensees under the U.S., Asian, and European visual voicemail patents include major wireless service providers, handset manufacturers, and cable/VOIP operators. Visual voicemail allows users to selectively listen to voicemails via a displayed list on their cell phones.

"T-Mobile is proud to announce, and is the first European operator to do so, the introduction of visualized voicemail on non-iPhone devices. We intend to start establishing this service as our new standard voicemail for the benefit of our customers. This is yet another important milestone in T-Mobile's innovation and differentiation strategy," said André Stark, senior vice president of segment marketing and personal communication for product and innovation at T-Mobile International AG.

“We are pleased to announce Deutsche Telekom as our latest visual voicemail patent licensee. The European patent license will cover T-Mobile’s new visualized voicemail services throughout Europe. Our patented technology lets consumers view, prioritize, and select voice messages from their mobile phones screens,” said Judah Klausner, chief executive officer of Klausner Technologies.
