Telent Acquires Voice Perfect

telent Technology Services has added the Voice Perfect brand and product range to its portfolio following an acquisition of the English voice processing and communication specialists.

Voice Perfect's Digital Voice Announcers (DVAs) and Voice Transfer Units (VTUs) provide station announcements and customer interfaces across London Underground stations, mainline rail stations, and international airports.

telent will continue to support Voice Perfect's product lines, primarily SCAS DVAs and Talk-2 VTUs. However, as mobile technology, such as tablets, plays a growing role in station management, telent will integrate these products into its MICA station management portfolio.

"The Voice Perfect name, synonymous with quality products with long lifespans, will be enhanced by our technical and maintenance capability," said Reg Cook, director of asset management at telent, in a statement. "This acquisition will improve our overall customer offering and strengthen the company's product line in both the rail and air transportation marketplaces. We are now able to provide digital voice communication across a range of platforms, and by combining the Voice Perfect systems with our mobile station management suite, we are able to provide increasingly flexible and mobile station management tools. Our ultimate aim is to enable station staff to manage their station from anywhere in the station."
