Telerik Rolls Out RadControls for Windows Phone 8

Telerik, an end-to-end provider of software application, life cycle, and content management solutions, announced the availability of its RadControls for Windows Phone 8, with more than 45 production-ready controls, including support for speech recognition.

Windows Phone 8 supports new display resolutions up to 1280x768, and Telerik RadControls make it easy for developers to display the appropriate images in their apps, through its Multi Resolution Image control.

"With the release of Windows Phone 8, Microsoft enters as a…very compelling player into the mobile wars," said Chris Sells, vice president of developer tools at Telerik, in a statement. "Therefore, developers are working hard to create and deploy apps into the Windows Phone Store early to gain competitive advantage. Not only do we offer [a] robust toolset with more than forty-five controls and fifty templates, but we also offer key capabilities, such as SlideView control updated for speech recognition and responsive image display to show the best-looking graphics at all of the new resolutions that Windows Phone 8 supports."

Telerik RadControls for Windows Phone 8 was engineered to complete the missing controls and functionalities from the UI Toolbox for Windows Phone and even the Windows Phone OS. The toolset offers a wide range of capabilities and provides the most comprehensive learning resources and quality support for a myriad of needs. It also matches the Windows Store design guidelines to the highest standards, better enabling quick approval of new apps.

RadControls for Windows Phone 8 goes beyond the standard UI suite, offering components such as Trial Reminder and RateAppReminder to help developers drive engagement and revenue with their apps. Telerik has also released new controls including TimeSpanPicker, ExpanderControl, DataForm, PaswordBox and InputPrompt, offering the building blocks developers need for speedy, successful creation and deployment.
