Unibet Releases a Speech-Enabled Sports Betting App

Artificial Solutions, a provider of natural language interaction technology, has worked with Unibet, an online gaming operator, to incorporate a speech-enabled intelligent interactive feature in the Unibet Sports Betting App.

The app, which was built on Artificial Solutions' Teneo platform, enables people to place bets using their own words and terminology.

Unibet is, one of Europe's largest online gaming operators, with more than 13 million customers globally,

With Unibet's new natural language-enabled app, customers in the United Kingdom looking to bet on soccer games simply need to say something like "Five quid on Chelsea to win" or "A tenner on a 3-0 City win" and the app does the rest, guiding the customer until the bet is placed. Should any ambiguity occur, the app will either make some safe assumptions or ask the customer for clarification..

The app is also being coupled with Unibet's live streaming portfolio (Unibet stream more than 30,000 major events per year), meaning bets can be placed without having to exit the stream.

"Natural language interaction has enabled us to create a positive, simplified experience for our customers in what is a complex industry," said Will Mace, head of strategic development at Unibet, in a statement. "As speech-enabled apps become more commonplace, people expect interactions to be intelligent, fast, and responsive. They are fed-up with clunky menu-driven interfaces; instead customers are demanding sophisticated understanding of their spoken words. Using Teneo has enabled us to deliver not just the application our customers want, but provided us with the insight to build on that conversation too."

Teneo enables enterprises to build artificially intelligent natural language applications, from digital employees and mobile personal assistants to wearables and IoT interfaces, all from a single platform. Artificially intelligent, behind-the-scenes features include machine learning and auto coding.

"We're thrilled to be working with Unibet and helping to realize their vision of a simplified betting interface, one where the customer controls the conversation not the app," said Lawrence Flynn, CEO of Artificial Solutions, in a statement. "The Internet made it convenient for people to place a bet, but it wasn’t always as easy as walking into a shop and simply asking for a wager. All that is set to change thanks to Unibet and Teneo."
