Vail Systems Releases SIP VoIP Telephony Interface Manager for Microsoft Speech Server 2004

Vail Systems announced Microsoft product certification of its Vail SIP Telephony Interface Manager (TIM) for Microsoft Speech Server 2004.

The Vail SIP TIM enables enterprises to connect Microsoft Speech Server 2004 speech application platform to SIP-based VoIP telephony networks and to legacy PBX and PSTN networks by using equipment including AudioCodes VoIP SIP Gateway cards and systems. Features include:

  • ACD-like Call Queuing: Incoming calls that exceed the number of SALT interpreter channels available are queued until a resource becomes free.
  • Software-based Port Utilization: Calls requiring an outbound transfer do not consume a second licensed telephony port. Scalability is limited only by host CPU capacity.
  • IP Carrier and CTI Integration: Paired with a certified session border controller, the SIP TIM enables enterprises to connect Microsoft Speech Server directly to IP
  • Carrier voice services without the capital or operational expense of VoIP/PSTN gateways.
  • Integrated Windows Management: TIM settings such as inbound and outbound port allocations, network security, and proxy registrations are configured using Windows WMI, MMC snap-ins and XML.
