Vocalocity Appoints New Positions to Lead OEM Software Business

ATLANTA, Ga. - Vocalocity announced that former Sony and VoiceGenie executive, Tom Ray, has joined the company as senior vice president of sales and business development. Ray will lead the global expansion of Vocalocity's OEM sales channels.

Ray has held management positions at Fortune 500 firms including Nortel Networks, IBM, Sony, Data General, and Proctor and Gamble. In his most recent role as executive vice president and general manager for Barco Visual Solutions, Ray introduced OEM leasing programs in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of sales and marketing at VoiceGenie Technologies, where he directed the sales organization responsible for the company's first profitable year and was instrumental in establishing the company as an industry leader. Additionally, Ray provided VoiceGenie with strategic management of key relationships with partners including SpeechWorks and Nuance.

In recent years, Ray has been on the board of directors for the technology alliance, SMART Toronto, and a manager with SMPTE (The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers). He has also found the time to chair the development of the technology component and lead the recent presentation to the IOC Review Committee for the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid.

In other news, Luis Gutierrez-Rocca has joined Vocalocity as vice president of finance and operations. Gutierrez-Rocca was most recently senior business development director for managed service solutions at Genesys. He has also held various senior management positions at Telera and MCI.

Both Ray and Gutierrez-Rocca will report to Vocalocity CEO, Mike Dickerson.
