Vodafone Portugal Offers New Information Services Using ScanSoft Speech Solutions

BURLINGTON, Mass. and LISBON, Portugal - Vodafone Portugal has implemented ScanSoft's voice-driven suite of information services that subscribers can access through their mobile devices. COLLAB, ScanSoft's strategic partner in the region, deployed the system, which utilizes ScanSoft's latest speech recognition and RealSpeak™ text-to-speech solutions to understand subscriber requests and deliver the appropriate information.

Vodafone Portugal has started using ScanSoft's speech recognition for navigating menus for information services about popular soccer clubs in Portugal and plans to progressively deploy ScanSoft's solutions for other information services.

"ScanSoft's solutions, in particular the new European Portuguese applications, have achieved good performance," said Bruno Alves, IVR and CTI Development, Vodafone Portugal. "Our IT implementation was deployed on budget and on time, and has led Vodafone Portugal to an efficient end-to-end architecture. COLLAB consulting was a key component to the successful project implementation."
