Voice Components and Vocomo Release Voice Email Solution

Voice Components, a speech application solution provider, and Vocomo Software, a developer of next-generation Interactive Voice Response (IVR), announce general availability of the Voice Email Appliance, a complete, on-premises voice e-mail solution.

The Voice Email Appliance is a hardware/software package that combines Voice Components' Voice Email software with Vocomo Voice Response, a next-generation turnkey IVR appliance with advanced speech capabilities. With the Voice Email Appliance, enterprises can enable anytime, anyplace access to e-mail. Mobile enterprise associates can securely retrieve, send, reply to, forward, and navigate the e-mail system in their own voice over any telephone.

"We have found voice e-mail to be a great solution for business people on the go" said Robert Harber, CEO of Voice Components. "While many companies find voice e-mail to be extremely compelling and highly useful, adoption has been constrained by a lack of comprehensive and affordable solutions. The Voice Email Appliance removes those constraints. It is a completely self-contained appliance that can be placed securely behind the firewall and totally isolated from the public Internet. Connect it to your network and plug in standard phone lines, and it is ready to use."

The foundation for the Voice Email Appliance is the Vocomo Voice Response platform. Based on industry standard VoiceXML 2.0, Vocomo Voice Response is an IVR appliance that works out-of-the-box. Vocomo Voice Response integrates Intel telephony-based services with speech recognition and text-to-speech technologies from IBM, SpeechWorks, and Rhetorical. With a choice between Linux and Windows2000 and a range of hardware configurations, Vocomo Voice Response is a suited platform for today's voice solutions.

"Vocomo is pleased to announce this product and technology partnership with Voice Components," said Danny B. Lange, CEO of Vocomo. "Our partnership will evolve the development of mobile enterprise applications and help set new standards in voice technology. We look forward to working with Voice Components in tackling this market."
