Voice Technologies Launches Voice Messenger Powered by SpeechMagic

PAISLEY - Voice Technologies launched Voice Messenger, a new speech recognition solution based on the SpeechMagic engine from Philips Speech Recognition Systems.  Voice Messenger is a medical speech recognition solution in the UK that enables physicians to access and use their hospital's reporting system from everywhere in the world over a Web browser.

In collaboration with the Glasgow School of Art's, Digital Design Studio, the company developed Voice Messenger - a speech-recognition enabled reporting solution, which can be integrated with other data streams, such as Radiology and Hospital Information Systems to bridge the crucial gap in hospital working procedures.

Voice Messenger, which is based on the SpeechMagic technology from Philips, allows doctors to directly dictate into letters, forms or reports and convert to text in real time. All functionalities can be accessed in a Web browser environment, so that location is no longer an issue and physicians can work from anywhere in the world. Incorporating the latest SpeechMagic functionalities, Voice Messenger allows users to navigate templates, insert standard text blocks and format text by voice command. As a result physicians can now create, check and edit reports immediately, without time-consuming typing. However, Voice Messenger also offers the option to forward dictations to medical secretaries for transcription.
