VoiceDJ Allows Users to Control their Music Libraries Entirely by Voice

Loquendo and Speak With Me, a voice-activated technology company that simplifies and enhances the way people interact with consumer electronic devices, announced the availability of Speak With Me’s first consumer app, VoiceDJ. Built on Speak With Me’s advanced Natural Language Dialog Platform (NLDP), based on Loquendo ASR (automatic speech recognition), VoiceDJ is an iPhone and iPod Touch application that allows users to control their mobile music library entirely with their voice. Support for the iPad is due later this month.

Speak With Me’s device-based technology platform delivers 99 percent accuracy and decreases voice recognition response time from seconds to milliseconds. VoiceDJ also recognizes nearly 1 million words from a person’s vocabulary and can handle music libraries with hundreds of thousands of entries. VoiceDJ doesn’t need an Internet connection to function, so users can enjoy the app anytime, anywhere.

“Our new VoiceDJ app is just the first of many products based on our industry-leading Natural Language Dialog Platform that we plan to roll out in the coming years,” said Ajay Juneja, CEO and founder of Speak With Me. “While this first app is focused on music and entertainment, future apps will be in many different verticals, including navigation, mobile search, and video games.”

“Speak With Me has created an exciting way for music lovers to interact with their iPhones, based on Loquendo’s highly accurate speech recognition technology and allowing users to make their commands in natural language speech,” says Paolo Coppo, vice president of marketing and business development at Loquendo.

Users can simply request their music with natural, conversational style commands instead of having to follow a pre-set script because VoiceDJ uses Speak With Me’s natural language search technology to provide a more intuitive user experience. As a result, VoiceDJ allows users to spontaneously change songs, artists, albums, or genres as the mood strikes. Once VoiceDJ is installed, users can create playlists on the fly and control their music with a wide range of commands, for example: “Play ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’”, “Add Rolling Stones to the Playlist”, “Next Track”, or “Turn it up”, etc.

The VoiceDJ app, which is now available in the Aplle App Store, can be downloaded as a free or paid version, and requires an iPhone 3GS or higher, or a 4th Generation iPod Touch running iOS 4.2 or higher.
