Voxpilot Partners with Kirusa

DUBLIN, IRELAND and BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Kirusa, a developer and licensor of multimodal wireless platforms, has teamed up with Voxpilot, the pan-European VoiceXML voice services provider, to integrate their multimodal platform (KMMP) with Voxpilot's voxBuilder Gateway services. The partnership extends the Kirusa Application Development Program (KADP) across Europe and enables Voxpilot's growing developer community to create and test applications leveraging advanced multimodality. voxBuilder developers can now build mobile multimodal applications that use both voice and visual interfaces in a single, consistent session. The environment empowered by Kirusa and Voxpilot is independent of any particular mobile operator, enabling testing and deployment across a broad range of networks. In addition to the live testing platform, developers also have access to relevant system documentation, application development guides, FAQs, hints and tips information to empower the creation of multimodal applications. The platform is accessible by application developers through the Internet by using standard Web-browsers. Multimodal applications are expressed using Kirusa's M3L language, a combination of industry standard WML and VoiceXML. The Kirusa and Voxpilot solutions are fully integrated, working together, and being demonstrated across Europe today. "Our partnership with Kirusa enables our developers to build and deploy next-generation multimodal applications by combining speech and text interfaces" said Dr Jonathan Alcantara, CEO of Voxpilot. "Through our partnership, Kirusa and Voxpilot make an important contribution to the convergence of VoiceXML and multimodality in the European marketplace." Mr Michael Sajor, Vice President of Kirusa, added, "Kirusa is very pleased to announce this strategic partnership with Voxpilot, demonstrating our deep commitment to the European market and accelerating our European growth. Together, we bring across Europe - for the first time - a comprehensive, leading edge multimodal solution for application developers, mobile operators and enterprises that will revolutionize the way subscribers interact with mobile applications and generate compelling new economic opportunities."
