YouMail Visual Voicemail Plus Now Available to Viaero Wireless Subscribers

YouMail's popular Visual Voicemail Plus application will now be available for free to all Viaero Wireless subscribers.

The feature-rich voicemail application will be preloaded on the regional wireless carrier's Android smartphones, and Viaero's iPhone and BlackBerry users can now download the app directly from respective app stores.

"Like most carriers, Viaero Wireless is seeing its customers move to smartphones," said Mike Felicissimo, executive vice president of Viaero Wireless, which serves customers in Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas. "With YouMail, Viaero can offer its smartphone customers a state-of-the-art visual voicemail service without having to deal with time and expense of integrating new equipment into its network operations."

YouMail CEO Alex Quilici said this distribution agreement presents his company with an opportunity to further showcase its popular, free visual voicemail app to consumers. Quilici said YouMail also stands to gain more users of its premium offerings through an easy, one-click upgrade process that simply appears on a user's wireless bill and does not require the entry of credit card information.

The development with Viaero Wireless comes on the heels of an announcement earlier in November that since its February 2009 launch the Visual Voicemail Plus app had been downloaded more than 3 million times. Additionally, the company can now boast having had 75 million distinct callers interact with the company's service at one point or another.

YouMail's Visual Voicemail application has numerous innovative and popular features, including:

  • Visual Caller ID, which visually identifies most callers with an appropriate image (such as a Facebook photo) and name, even when they're not in a user's address book.
  • Smart Greetings, which automatically greets callers by name, with little or no setup.
  • Simple Sharing, which allows users to post interesting voicemails to Facebook and Twitter in just a few clicks, from anywhere.
  • Any Device Access, which lets users pick up their mobile voicemail on phones, tablets, computers, or even through email or txt messages.

YouMail, which can be downloaded for free by smartphone owners on major U.S. wireless carriers, currently supports applications for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices, as well as third-party applications developed for other mobile operating systems such as Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 6.5, and WebOS.

"We're finding that more and more carriers are distributing YouMail to their users in lieu of trying to build or integrate their own next generation voicemail experiences," Quilici said. "We see YouMail as the future of enhanced telecommunications services, like voicemail, where those services are moved out of the network and into the cloud, made social, optimized for smartphones, and are made available through a freemium model."
