pulse Releases Support for Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP)

MARKHAM, ON - Pulse Voice Inc. released support for the Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) for vendor independent integration to text-to-speech (TTS) and speech recognition (ASR) products.

With the MRCP standard, the applications developed for speech are portable as the underlying interface conforms to the standards.

As defined by the Internet Engineering Taskforce (IETF), the MRCP specification defines commands between clients and servers for distributed speech processing. pulsevoice's MRCP module can control multiple media, recognizer and synthesizer servers through a common interface.

With the new support of MRCP on the pulsevoice IVR platform, developers can select a speech product based on budget, quality and/or capability. If a particular language is unavailable, the problem can be resolved by integrating with a speech product that does support the language. Solutions can mix TTS and ASR products from different vendors.
