Envox Worldwide Launches Envox 6.1 VoiceXML Studio
Posted May 1, 2005

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. - Envox Worldwide released the  Envox 6.1 VoiceXML Studio, which enables developers to create DTMF-based or speech-enabled applications that run on any VoiceXML 2.0-compliant gateway.  Envox 6.1 VoiceXML Studio is also integrated with the recently released Envox 6.1, Edify's open, standards-based communications development platform.

With Envox 6.1 VoiceXML Studio, developers are freed from writing VoiceXML code. Instead, applications are assembled from pre-built "functional blocks" for voice user interface management, call control, application logic, and database integration accelerating the development process.

The key features included in the Envox 6.1 VoiceXML Studio are SayAs functionality, Application Activity Logging, Block-Level Error Logging, and a Free Form VoiceXML Block.

The new features highlighted above combine with the existing features of the Envox VoiceXML Studio including the following:

When Envox 6.1 VoiceXML Studio is combined with the Envox 6.1 Communications Development Platform, the two create an integrated VoiceXML offering. Developers using this combination gain the following capabilities: a set of  development functions not included in the VoiceXML 2.0 specification; a bridge between legacy systems and new VoiceXML-based solutions allowing them to leverage prior infrastructure investments; support for speech and telephony resources; a fault tolerant VoiceXML gateway; the ability to deploy solutions in a range of telephony environments; and management capabilities for administering large-scale installations.
