Tel Aviv, Israel, - Persay Ltd. (www.persay.com), a provider in biometric speaker verification technology, received the results of the text dependent speaker verification system evaluations performed by the University of Canberra in Australia, confirming Persay's VocalPassword as the world leader in verification accuracy.

The text dependent speaker verification evaluations were performed at the National Centre for Biometrics studies at the University of Canberra for the first time in 2005 and are the most competitive and thorough tests ever performed. In the evaluations, Nuance presented Nuance Verifier and SpeechSecure and Persay submitted its text dependent speaker verification product, VocalPassword.

The round of tests performed in 2006 at the National Centre for Biometric Studies evaluated Persay's most recent release of VocalPassword as well as an alpha version of Persay's next release. Both systems were tested using the same set of comprehensive evaluations used in the previous year. Persay's VocalPassword excelled in these evaluations and ranked number 1 in system accuracy. In some cases, the Equal Error Rate was reduced by as much as 50 percent, compared to the system tested in 2005, exceeding 99 percent accuracy.
