iSpeak4U Releases Android Version of HandySpeech

iSpeak4U, a provider of mobile apps for people with speech and hearing disabilities, has released an Android version of HandySpeech, a mobile app that gives people with speech disabilities a conversational tool.

HandySpeech allows users to write on device screens with their fingers or styluses and have the devices read aloud what the individual intended to say. The app remembers frequently used phrases and learns users handwriting styles. Additionally, the app can communicate with users through male and female voices powered by text-to-speech technology from Nuance Communications' NDEV Mobile developer program.

The application was created by a 12-year-old boy who was inspired by his sister, an autistic girl with speech disabilities. "I invented HandySpeech to give a voice to people who are unable to speak," said Eric Zeiberg, in a statement. "The application is dedicated to courageous people who struggle every day to overcome their disabilities. I hope that HandySpeech will provide much-needed help and open new opportunities for people in need."
