DUBLIN, Ireland - SaskTel, a provincial Crown Corporation and a full service communications company in Saskatchewan, entered an agreement with Openet, a provider of solutions to extract increased value from diverse service provider networks, and ENABIL Solutions, a provider of customer care and billing solutions.  Through the agreement, SaskTel will implement Openet's FusionWorks Charging and FusionWorks Real-time Rating to enhance its ability to deliver next-generation services to its 425,000-plus customers.

"For close to 100 years, SaskTel has been providing reliable communications services to communities across Saskatchewan, many of which are rural areas where wireless communications have become an essential adjunct to traditional wireline services," said Robert Watson, SaskTel President and CEO.  "Openet will allow us to engage in rapid and seamless deployment of new services, enhancing SaskTel's stature as a trusted provider of enhanced business and personal communications services."

Through this implementation, SaskTel will be able to deliver and garner revenue for its services, while also accelerating delivery of new services such as advanced wireless text and video.
