Jerry Carter has spent a dozen years extending the scope and suitability of speech as a natural interface for entering and retrieving information. He invented the first commercial framework encapsulating common dialog constructs, shaped nearly a dozen VoiceXML platforms, and architected several speech applications with a global reach. Jerry has edited and influenced numerous specifications and industry efforts including VoiceXML, MRCP, SALT, and EMMA. He is currently focused on context-aware NL dialogs and bringing speech into the mobile web.
