Active in the speech recognition industry for many years, Dan is known for his standards leadership while at Nuance. Co-editor of VoiceXML 2.0/2.1, SSML 1.0, and MRCPv2, he is currently co-chairing the SSML 1.1 subgroup of the W3C Voice Browser Working Group. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from OGI.
