Dynamic, Syntax-independent Grammars with GrammarKit
Chant simplifies dynamic grammar construction for speech recognition applications.
Los Angeles, CA (12/1/2008) -

Chant, a software vendor of speech technology tools, announced today general availability of GrammarKit 3, a new version of its component software that enables software programs to construct, compile, and persist speech recognition grammars.

Now developers have the ability to quickly and easily generate syntax-independent and -specific speech recognition grammars, compile them, and persist them in binary or source form for speech recognition capabilities in desktop, server, and mobile applications. GrammarKit 3 provides a common application interface for managing grammars with IBM, Microsoft, and Nuance speech technologies.

"As applications become more user- and environment-specific, it's important they adapt to their runtime environment," said John Earle, president and founder of Chant. "GrammarKit 3 provides developers application ready components to dynamically generate grammars to recognize almost anything required by the application on platforms such as Vista and Windows Mobile 6."

New key features and capabilities provided by GrammarKit 3 include:

  • Classes to generate syntax-independent and -specific grammars.
  • .NET 1.1, 2, 3 (WPF), and CF to support C#, Visual Basic, J#, and Delphi Prism applications.
  • VCL components for supporting applications built with C++Builder and Delphi 2009.
  • Sun Java 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6 component libraries for development tools such as JBuilder 2009.
  • C++ Classes for supporting traditional C++ application development.
  • PC2003, Windows Mobile 5, and Windows Mobile 6 compatible libraries.
